Hi, I'm John. I've been making music and working with audio tools since the early 2000s, and I started XPLTD Audio to push on what those tools can do.
The name is shorthand for exploited. What drives me is knowing there is more in audio than we use: hidden details and interactions that sit there, invisible until something uncovers them. I build the tools that go looking.
New technology and new music tend to show up together. Someone builds a machine, and a few years later there is music that could not have existed without it. That is most of why I do this.
Every plugin I make has to do two things: be fun the first time you open it, and stay interesting to an engineer who has heard it all.

Software you paid for shouldn't stop working because the company you bought it from stopped existing.
If my servers go down, or if XPLTD Audio closes, your old sessions still open and your audio still passes.
